Fannin County School System Charter System Initiative
On July 1, 2014, the Fannin County School System entered into a contract with the Georgia Department of Education to become a State Charter System.
In January 2026, Fannin County submitted its second Charter Renewal Application to the GADOE. The application contained all of our System Data, demonstrating that we had met all the requirements we had committed to when our Charter was approved. These included academic goals, innovative practices, the initiation of School Governance Teams, compliance with financial guidelines, and the effective operation of the school system.
Our current Charter Application was approved by the Commission in March 2026. We were singled out as having an exceptional system. Our new charter was effective as of July 1, 2026.
